SUBMITTING POETRY

POETRY SUBMISSIONS ARE CLOSED UNTIL 30 January 2024.

Antipodes invites poetry submissions from Australian and New Zealand writers, including writers residing in Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand, and Australian and NZ citizens residing abroad.

  • Submit a maximum of 5 poems in a single Word or RTF document (preferably at least 3 poems). There is no maximum line length, as Antipodes will occasionally publish longer poems.

  • Use Times New Roman font, 12-point, single-spaced. Clearly indicate stanza breaks.

  • Include a brief bio in third person, 100 words max.

  • If accepted, payment of US$50 per poem will be made via PayPal when the issue is published. Contributors receive a print copy of the issue in which their work appears. Writers retain copyright.

  • Poems submitted must not be previously published elsewhere.

·

Submit your poems via this portal (not via email): https://digitalcommons.wayne.edu/cgi/submit.cgi?context=antipodes
or click on 'SUBMIT' below.

Please note: since scholarly articles are the primary focus of the submission  portal, you should ignore any fields in the submission process that do not make sense for a creative work (abstract, keywords, etc.).

Attach your work as a Word document or RTF file only.

Under Document Type, select the appropriate category for your submission (Poetry).

If you have not submitted through this portal before, you will need to create an account.

Inquiries related to poetry manuscripts should be sent to the Antipodes Poetry Editor, Nathanael O’Reilly, at nathanael.oreilly@uta.edu.
